Meet the farmers

We have been a part-time grower of early Jersey Royals since 1979, renting land and early cotils in the West of the island and exporting them to the U. K.

In 1995 we purchased a glasshouse unit and polythene tunnels and have been growing covered early Jersey Royals ever since, starting in November and lifting in early march each year.

Whilst we are relatively small growers, we still plough and prepare the soil, as well as plant and dig by hand. We feel that this helps to produce a more genuine product. Not only is this special to us, but we hope the extra care and effort we put into our methods translates into a better finished product.

Not only that, but as a grower that was not born in Jersey, this offers a chance to attach myself and continue contributing to a big part of the island’s heritage. Back to Farmers
