Stephen & Shirley Pugh

From our farm at Low grounds Swineshead we supply Albert Bartlett Boston Ltd with potatoes from some of the best silt land in south Lincolnshire.

Approximately 4000 Tonnes of Vivaldi are grown, lifted, split graded & delivered using our modern harvesting, grading and haulage fleet. Maris piper, Marfona & Estima are also grown on the farm. 2007 season saw us trialling Rooster and Osprey for the Boston business.

As a family business we have invested heavily in potatoes at Low grounds farm which include 9,600 tonnes of cold storage and boxes, 2 De Wulf self propelled harvesters, a new 4 module 5 size splits Herbert grader. Plus a modern fleet of tractors, cultivators and equipment to service the arable farm. Our 1 lorry delivers over 10,000 Tonnes of potatoes from farm to packing site each year.

Aside from potatoes we grow wheat, oats, sugar beet, peas & oil seed rape.

We pride ourselves in not using CIPC on any of our stored crops in the last 6 seasons, Management of ditches and surrounding wildlife is of high importance on the farm and we tailor cultivations and operations around this. We are approved natures choice suppliers and will be drilling Bumblebee mix this coming spring.

We are the former owners of Pengethley potatoes ltd. Outside of farming Stephen trialed for the welsh under 16 rugby squad & pulled for welsh Tug’O’War team. Back to Farmers
