Meet the farmers

H Lowe & Son

Tibhall Farm in Atherstone is located on the Staffordshire and Warwickshire border, growing produce including wheat, peas and winter oil seed rape. We grow Vivaldi, Rooster and Marabel for Albert Bartlett & Sons. Myself (Nigel), David and Jayne have grown potatoes for the past four years for Albert Bartlett & Sons.

H Lowe & Sons not only carry out size grading of potatoes on the farm, but also deliver using their own lorry. We have also benefited from recent investment in an increased capacity of cold storage and ambient storage, greatly helping to improve the efficiency and quality in their production.

The farm also comprises of fishing ponds, containing Carp, which a local club regularly use to enjoy and carry out the sport. Around 2km of hedgerow has been planted over the last five years, helping to provide excellent habitats, along with wild bird cover.

The farm also comprises of a range of buildings, all of which are let for use by local businesses, engineering and woodworking companies. David not only has a passion for farming, but also for horses, owning and training racehorses as a hobby. In order to help Great Ormond Street, Nigel recently completed a sponsored cycle ride from Birmingham to Oxford, helping to raise funds for the charity. Back to Farmers
