Meet the farmers

David Russell

The Russell family have been farming by Lundin Links on the east coast of Fife for over 100 years although we have only been supplying Bartlett's with potatoes since 1998.We currently grow Vivaldi for salads, Harmony, Osprey and of course Rooster. As well as potatoes we grow Swedes, malting barley, milling oats and wheat for our local distillery.

We are very keen on the environment of the farm and are aiming to invest in wind turbines to meet our own energy requirements and reduce our carbon footprint. We also encourage wildlife, beneficial insects and nesting birds on the farm through our mixture of cropping, watercourse buffer zones and bumblebee strips. We have several public walks through the farm to encourage the local community to enjoy the outdoors and see the farm at work.

Out with farming my wife and I have three teenage daughters, I enjoy motor biking, attending football matches and sampling the produce of our malting barley, although not necessarily in that order. Back to Farmers
