Meet the farmers

Ashley Le Sech

I am the fourth generation of Le Sech's to be potato growers. I am working with my uncle who also keeps cattle, which is great because we can use a lot of the organic material that the cattle produce to keep our fields in good health.

I am a great believer in using as much natural fertilizer as possible such as Vraic, or seaweed as you would know it. It is not just a natural source of nitrogen, but also a very good soil conditioner too.

Hopefully my youngest son will follow in my footsteps, he is already learning so much about the ways of nature and the importance of looking after the soil. I am teaching him that if you look after nature, she will help look after you. Back to Farmers
